Simple Machines at Home

For this assignment we had to go home and take pictures of the six kinds of simple machines. Simple machines are things that make work easier. Without them things in life would be alot harder to do, so here are my examples of them.

This type of simple machine

is a knife which is a wedge. It

is found in my kitchen for food. It

is helpful to us because it breaks

down our food so it's easier to eat.

This simple machine is a wheel and

axle. The tire is found in my garage

from my brothers car. Without the

wheel and axle the car would not be

able to move, so that is why this

simple machine is important.

In this picture I have

my blinds from my living
room. The simple machine is a pulley

that makes the blinds open and shut.

Without it, the window would have to

be open or shut at all times.

This simple machine is a screw. It

was found in my house from my

dad's tool box. Screws help in our

everyday lives by holding things

together so they don't come apart.

These are scissors also found in my

house, specifically in my desk drawer.

They are a lever and it makes cutting

things easier. It lifts both sides up to be

called a lever.

These are my stairs found in my house.

They are an example of an inclined

plane. Without them it would be

alot harder to get up and down around

my house, so that's how it makes work

easier.

So as you can see, simple makes work easier. All of these tools can help you with your everyday life, so keep using simple machines!
